Sheboygan County Jail Roster Overview
The official Sheboygan County jail roster is the Current Inmate List. It is a county page that links to an In-Custody List PDF. The page says the list of inmates in custody is updated in the morning, Monday through Friday. The inspected PDF had a report date/time of 07/01/2026 at 10:19:09 AM and listed Total Housed 347. It was free to open and did not require a login.
This is a useful but narrow Sheboygan County inmate records source. The PDF does not offer a search form, filters, sorting, recent booking feed, profile pages, charge list, bond table, housing location, court date, release status, or mugshot. A person booked after the morning update may not appear until the next update, and a weekend booking may be delayed in public view. If timing matters, use the Adult Detention Center phone line, VINE, or a records request rather than the PDF alone.
Use the Sheboygan County Roster
A Sheboygan County jail roster search is done inside the PDF, not by typing into a county database form. Start with a last name when possible. Common names require extra care because the public list does not show date of birth or address. If the person is not listed, check whether the person may have been released, transferred to DOC, held by another county, moved into federal or ICE custody, or not yet shown because the public PDF has not refreshed.
- Open the Current Inmate List page on the Sheboygan County Adult Detention Center site.
- Select the In-Custody List link to open the PDF roster.
- Read the report date/time and Total Housed count before relying on the record.
- Use PDF find to search a last name, then compare first name, middle name, age, and gender.
- For charges or bond, search WCCA or contact the clerk, jail, or sheriff records unit.
Sheboygan County Roster Search Fields
The county's search-field table is unusual because there are no public input fields. That matters for people used to vendor jail portals. The only search tool is the PDF or browser find function. The roster itself supplies identity fields, and the reader has to match those fields manually.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| No search field | PDF/static list | Not applicable | Use Ctrl+F, browser find, or mobile find inside the PDF. |
| Report Date/Time | PDF metadata/text | Not user-entered | Shows when the report was generated. |
| Total Housed | PDF count | Not user-entered | Shows the count in that report, not a yearly average. |
| ID | Roster column | Not user-entered | Numeric jail or person ID. |
| Last, first, middle | Roster columns | Not user-entered | Names appear in uppercase in the inspected PDF. |
| Age and gender | Roster columns | Not user-entered | Useful for matching common names because DOB is not shown. |
Sheboygan County Inmate Record Fields
The public PDF answers one core question: whether the person appears on the current housed list. It does not answer why the person is in jail. It also does not replace a booking record, arrest report, criminal complaint, judgment, sentence, or DOC record. When a Sheboygan County inmate record needs more detail, the next source depends on the fact needed.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Report Date/Time | When the roster report was generated. |
| Total Housed | Total number shown on that report. |
| ID | County roster identifier, not a DOC number. |
| Name | Last, first, and middle name or initial. |
| Age | Age in years, not date of birth. |
| Gender | M or F in the inspected PDF. |
| Charges, bond, mugshot | Not shown on the county PDF. |
For formal proof, match the field to the custodian. The sheriff can maintain booking and law-enforcement records. The Clerk of Circuit Courts maintains the case file after charges are filed. Wisconsin DOC controls state prison identifiers and DOC numbers. A county roster ID should not be treated as a court case number or a DOC number because each system assigns its own identifier.
Sheboygan County Inmate Access Channels
Every official channel serves a different purpose. Use the county roster first for current adult jail custody. Call the Adult Detention Center at 920-459-1300 when the status is time-sensitive or the PDF is unclear. Use the sheriff's open-records process for booking records, incident records, photos, video, or older details that are not in the PDF. Use WCCA for charges after the District Attorney files a case. Use VINELink for custody-status notices.
| Need | Best channel | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Current adult jail custody | County Current Inmate List PDF | Weekday morning snapshot with few fields. |
| Custody change notice | Wisconsin VINELink | Notification service, not a full booking record. |
| Booking or incident records | Sheriff's open-records request | Active cases and juvenile records may be withheld. |
| Filed charges | WCCA | Docket summary, not every underlying document. |
| Sentenced prison custody | Wisconsin DOC Offender Locator | Does not cover county jail detainees. |
| Federal or immigration custody | BOP or ICE locator | Separate federal systems, not county jail records. |
There is no official Sheboygan County Sheriff app in the research for roster, warrant, or mugshot lookup. The county links Securus mobile-app information for communication, visitation, and money services, but that is not a sheriff-operated inmate records app. If a vendor app shows account tools, it should not be read as a public custody locator.
Sheboygan County Jail Facilities
The sheriff's Correctional Division operates the adult jail and juvenile detention center. Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution is physically in Sheboygan County, but it is a DOC prison, so its population is not part of the county jail roster. The distinction is important when a Sheboygan County inmate record search moves from arrest to sentencing.
The Adult Detention Center is the only public county roster path found for adult custody. The Juvenile Detention Center is a secure county juvenile facility, but juvenile custody records are not handled like adult jail roster records. KMCI is a local landmark in Sheboygan County, yet a person held there is in state prison custody. Search KMCI residents with the DOC locator and confirm visiting rules through DOC, not through the county jail roster.

Sheboygan County Booking Records
Local pages do not publish a step-by-step booking manual, but the research identifies the practical path. After an arrest, law enforcement brings the person to the Adult Detention Center if jail custody is needed. Jail staff identify the person, enter booking data, secure property, check warrants and holds, screen for safety and classification, and place the person in custody. The Correctional Division includes booking clerks, a Classification Team, a Classification/Court Officer, and medical and mental-health care support.
Booking is not the same as a court case. An arrest reason may change when the District Attorney reviews reports and files a criminal complaint. The jail PDF does not show charges at all, so court records after a jail arrest are the better source for filed counts, bond events, warrants, judgments, and sentences.
Huber and EMP records are also more specific than the public roster. A sentenced person who seeks work release must obtain and complete a Huber Packet before turning in. Required documents may include a driver's license and auto insurance for driving, business insurance and contracts for self-employment, or birth certificates and a spouse's employer work hours for childcare. The roster may show the person as housed, but it does not show whether those outside-release privileges are approved.
Medical and mental-health details are also not roster fields. The county says the jail provides medical and mental-health care, and Huber inmates using outside providers must submit appointment cards to the medical department ahead of time. Those care and movement details are operational jail records, not public PDF roster entries.
Sheboygan County Visitation Rules
Adult jail visitation is handled through Securus registration. All visitors must be registered, including on-site visitors. The county says there is no limit on the amount of visits an inmate receives, but an inmate may refuse a visit with a particular person. Visits are recorded and electronically monitored unless they are approved attorney or other professional visits.
| Visit type | Hours | Rule |
|---|---|---|
| Remote video | Daily 9:00-11:30 AM, 1:00-2:30 PM, 5:30-9:00 PM | Securus registration required. |
| On-site video | Monday and Thursday 6:00-9:00 PM; Wednesday 1:00-2:30 PM | ID required and personal items restricted. |
| Professional visits | By professional rules | Attorney and approved professional visits may be protected from recording. |
Contact a Sheboygan County Inmate
Personal mail no longer goes straight to the Sheboygan Detention Center or jail. Since May 1, 2023, personal mail has been routed to the Securus Digital Mail Center, scanned, and made available through tablets or kiosks. Physical mail is destroyed 60 days after upload. Scanned mail remains available for 30 days after release and is then removed from Securus. Legal mail, publisher publications, and money orders still go directly to the facility.
Phones in the pods operate as outgoing collect or operator-assisted calls. Incoming inmate calls and incoming messages are not accepted by the jail. For money, cash deposits can be made at the kiosk in the Detention Center entrance. County materials also link Securus for phone, voicemail, and money services, but the Securus mobile app is a vendor tool rather than a sheriff-branded roster app.
Mail rules are strict because the digital mail center scans personal mail instead of delivering the original paper. The county says improper envelopes may be returned or delayed. Pictures and drawings are handled through scanning, while packages and certified mail are returned. Visitors should not try to pass letters during visits because the visitation rules bar paper, writing materials, books, magazines, food, beverages, cameras, recording devices, and cell phones from the secure visiting area.
Huber and Inmate Funds
Huber and electronic monitoring have separate local rules. A person beginning a sentence must contact the Detention Center to obtain a Huber Packet and schedule a turn-in time. The packet must be complete before turn-in, or the person may not be allowed out for work, school, childcare, or related release privileges. Working or childcare EMP fees total $205 up front. A college student not employed has a total of $100. A high school student not employed has a total of $30. Short-sentence fees total $30 plus meals and maintenance.
| Huber or EMP category | Published upfront amount |
|---|---|
| Working or childcare EMP | $205 total up front. |
| College student not employed | $100 total. |
| High school student not employed | $30 total. |
| Short sentence | $30 plus meals and maintenance. |
Note: Confirm current custody and account rules with the jail before scheduling visits, sending mail, or depositing money.
